Multiannual cooperation in the field of Information and Communication Technologies and related interdisciplinary applications (ICTNET) is of extraordinary relevance in order to promote higher education and, consequently, contribute to economic and social development of the European area as well as of the neighbor cooperating areas.

Specific goals of the consortium are:

• to contribute to the development of information and communication technologies and related interdisciplinary applications by supporting cooperation among experts in academia and the industry, in the European Union and in the neighbor cooperating areas;

• to collaborate in research activities and promote knowledge dissemination in the above fields in order to ensure a sustainable and synergic cultural and economic growth;

• to promote technology transfer to the industry in the above fields in order to stimulate and support competitiveness especially for the SMEs in the globalized economic scenario;

• to support the growth and scientific training of researchers and professionals in the above fields for strengthening their competences and contributing to providing leverage for employment opportunities;

• to promote synergic cooperation with scientific and professional associations in the above fields;

• to increase awareness about the above fields among the public at large.
